De Lagavulin 12 years old Special Release 2020 is een 12 jaar oude Islay single malt en de bekende Lagavulin 12, gebotteld in de Diageo Special Releases serie 2020. Deze Lagavulin heeft gerijpt in refill American oak casks en is in 2020 gebotteld op vatsterkte (cask strength) van 56,4%.

Tasting notes: Unusually ashy top notes for Lagavulin on the nose, but with typical linseed oil in time. Fruity notes of boiled sweets, and sea air. On the palate, the flavour is sweeter than expected, smoky with a little sea salt. Long and smoky finish with a salty aftertaste.
